July 15, 2019. Disfrimur, a Spanish company dedicated to the transport of goods by road, has incorporated into its fleet some thirty trucks powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), continuing with the renovation initiated last year, aimed at achieving the objective of zero emissions and framed in the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility.

Disfrimur thus strengthens its commitment to sustainable mobility by the hand of the Iveco Stralis Natural Power truck, which was cataloged as ‘Ecological Vehicle of the Year 2018’ by the specialized magazine Transporte 3. This model, acquired from Ginés Huertas Industriales, concessionaire belonging to the Grupo Huertas, is the first natural gas truck designed specifically for long distance operations, with a range of up to 1,500 kilometers.

Natural gas brings environmental benefits such as improving local air quality and curbs CO2 emissions by up to 15% compared to its diesel equivalent. In addition, in terms of noise pollution, natural gas reduces sound emissions and vibrations up to 50% compared to diesel.

For the president of Disfrimur, Juan Sánchez, LNG is “the only real option to traditional fuels” and highlights “the commitment of the company to have this type of clean energy to achieve sustainable transport.”
