September has the highest number of Spanish CNG truck registrations of the year

October 25, 2021. Gasnam, the Iberian Association of Natural Gas for Mobility, reported that in September 257 vehicles fueled with this fuel were registered. So far in 2021, the increase in registrations of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) trucks by 26.9% and 71.2% respectively, compared to the same period in 2020, stands out. In the accumulated of the year, these vehicles increased their deliveries by 40.4%, to 577 units, reaching a market share of 4.4%.

In Portugal, CNG buses maintain a high market share of around 35%, with 10 more units registered during September 2021 and heavy vehicles sales continue to increase, reaching 25 units.

On the other hand, the gas refueling network has grown, increasing its capillarity throughout the Spanish geography. The opening of 17 public access supply points so far this year brings the country to a total of 188 filling stations, to which we must add 24 in Portugal, making up a total of 212.

These 17 new facilities are located in: Balsapintada (Murcia); Tarragona (Tarragona); Cáceres (Extremadura); Sant Joan de Vilatorrada (Catalonia); Ziordia (Navarra); Lleida (Catalonia); Getafe (Madrid); Villarobledo (Albacete); Caudete (Albacete); Navalmanzano (Segovia); Sant Boi de Llobregat (Barcelona); Terrassa (Barcelona); Fuenlabrada (Madrid); Leganés (Madrid); Valencia (Valencia); and Oiartzun (Gipuzkoa).
