Interview with Tim Mayson

Tim Mayson, International Sales Engineer for Compac Industries Ltd., talked about the present of the New Zealand company at worldwide level, its main products and plans for the rest of the year.

What are the most requested products of Compac in the international market?

The most popular products as requested by customers include our CNG dispensers, as well as all of the major parts which make up a CNG dispenser – the Compac C4000 Electronic fuel head, KG80 Mass Flow Meter, and purpose built hydraulics. All of these parts are designed and manufactured by our team of highly skilled engineers, meaning that we have the unique ability to guarantee premium product quality and performance, as well as being able to provide complete technical support and ongoing training for our customers.

What are the main markets for Compac at present?

Compac have ongoing business throughout the world in the CNG industry, but recently the most activity we have seen has been in India, Iran, Malaysia, Bangladesh and Thailand. As the market in Thailand has been becoming increasingly privately owned, we have seen more and more activity from here.

Knowing the over 25 year’s experience of Compac in the matter. What is the latest in technology for CNG dispensers?

Increasingly, people are asking for the preset facility, which is a feature of our dispensers that enables customers to fill up with as much or as little gas as they like – to exact amounts. This also gives added benefit to the station owner for cash transactions – avoiding the hassles of dealing with small amounts of change.

We are also developing online monitoring and management solutions suitable for CNG applications, which will enable station owners the ability to use any computer with the internet access to view their daily transactions and manage events (for example, prices changes) for their stations, without the inconvenience of having to visit the site to do so.

Recently, Compac have received a purchase order from Indraprastha Gas Limited. What is the content of the order? What are their implications for the development of your business in India?

Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) have ordered over 200 Compac Laser model CNG Bus and Car dispensers. IGL is a large, high profile CNG company in India , and this was an important milestone for Compac. Our goal at Compac is to increase market share in this area over the next few years. This order secures a large installed dispenser base for us to build on in future.

What will be the next steps of the company for the remainder of the year?

It is important for us to continue to deliver our equipment on time to all of our customers, despite the recent increases in business for Compac, and continue to deliver superior, ongoing levels of technical service support and training, to the best of our ability. We are also focusing on developing and expanding our customer base in the above mentioned countries over the next year.
