Spanish company rents vehicles powered by compressed natural gas

June 7, 2012. Aupisa, Iveco dealer in the Spanish city of Castellon, has become the first company dedicated to rent vehicles in the country offering units powered by compressed natural gas engines (CNG). The company joined its fleet of over 120 rent cars, two CNG EcoDaily Natural Power in closed box configuration, with a range exceeding 400 km and fuel savings of up to 60% compared to a similar diesel vehicle.

The CNG EcoDaily Natural Power has a dual methane/petrol engine. In CNG phase, it has multi-point injection and produces 136 CV / 350 Nm, with methane injectors to 7 bar pressure. Under normal conditions, and depending on the configuration of the cylinders of natural gas, has a range of up to 400 km. When charging is completed, it activates the gasoline engine of 82 CV / 230 Nm, which by a small tank enables to reach another 100 km.

Apart from cost savings, the CNG EcoDaily Natural Power presents emission rates below the last diesel engine vehicles of category Euro VI (EEV), because it sheds 0.005 g/kWh of particles and 0.5 g/kWh of nitrogen monoxide (NOx).
