Companies involved in long term car rental that acquire ecological units will be provided of an economic aid within a program of the Ministry of Industry from Spain, which includes an investment of 4.2 million Euros. The aid is included in an agreement signed between the Institute for the Diversification and Saving of Energy (IDAE) and seven companies in the sector included in the Association of Spanish Renting (AER).

   The signatories companies commit to invest in such vehicles at a value exceeding 37 million Euros under the aegis of the Strategic Projects Program of the IDAE. Also, they will move the full support of IDAE to customers who have entered into transactions with this formula and using more efficient technology, whether hybrid, natural gas, electric or hydrogen.

   The values set for each technology are: Hybrid Type I, 2.300 Euros; Hybrid Type II, 1.800 Euros; Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), 1.200 Euros; Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), 1.200 Euros; Electrics, 7,000 Euros; Hybrids plug, 7000 Euros; and Hydrogen, 7.000 Euros. Aids have an upper limit of 15% of the cost of acquiring the vehicle.
