Unauto to add other ten gas-powered buses

The Governing Board of Toledo, Spain, authorized the company Unauto to the replacement of ten buses for units powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) by 31 December 2010.

As reported by the City Council, in accordance with the requirements of the specifications of the grant, six of these vehicles should join the fleet next year. These substitutions are intended to maintain during the contract period an average age of the fleet of six years.

Last October 2009, the city of Toledo was incorporated into the network of cities with a clean and environmentally friendly urban transport, with ten new buses fueled with natural gas which  are fully operational six months ago.

The addition of these ten new buses for urban transport service in Toledo was an investment of 3.15 million Euros. And the operating company was also to build a gas compression plant on its base station located in the Industrial area, which in the future will service the entire city.
