The promise of a greater volume of gas that would provide Petrobras, encourages Companhia de Gás de São Paulo (Comgás) to offer a more competitive price for natural gas vehicle (NGV), in contrast to a systematic loss of market (12.32% in first half) which has been suffering compared to ethanol.
Sérgio Silva, Vice President of Major Markets from Comgás, said the company has high hopes that the natural gas purchased at auction by Petrobras can be part of the volume directed to the NGV at more attractive prices. The measure is still under evaluation by the Agência Reguladora de Saneamento e Energia do Estado de São Paulo (ARSESP), but it could come into force between August and September this year.
Also Comgás should start later this year to expand its network in the municipality of Jundiaí. In the first half, the network of the company rose more than 300 kilometers, which results in the last 12 months a total of 582 kilometers. Investments in the period reached R$ 169 million (USD 96 million). Today the network has reached the milestone of 6.500 km The main works were in Mogi das Cruzes, São Bernardo, Alphaville and Guarulhos.
