WHAT IS?

Natural Gas is a fossil fuel found in the subsoil or associated to crude oil. It is composed principally by 95 % of methane in Argentina, depending on the original field.
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) indicates that natural gas has been compressed for its utilization as vehicle fuel. Also it is known as NGV (Natural Gas Vehicle).
The CNG is transported in high pressure storage cylinders which provide the fuel to the vehicle engine.
This kind of gaseous fluid allows its transportation through Virtual or Mobil Pipelines to those towns located at a great distance from urban centres which don’t need a traditional duct.

STATUS
Natural Gas for vehicles is the same fluid used at home but compressed inside special wheel cylinders with alloying chrome and nickel at 200 bar pressure (or 200 kg/cm2).

ADVANTAGES

Economical: Cheaper than gasoline and diesel. Investment on CNG equipment is paid with fuel savings in approximately 6 or 7 months.

Safe: Ignition temperature for natural gas is 700ºC, compared to 400ºC for gasoline. Because of that, if occurs any gas waste, quickly at the atmosphere. CNG cylinders are stronger than gasoline tanks, and fulfilled more exigent norms.
Increase useful life of engines because it not produces sediments, maintains plugs clean for more time and lubricants have a long duration.
Ecological: It generates less impurities and residues during the combustion process. It is not corrosive, not contains toxic organic lead additives, MBTE and benzene like gasoline, in order to its natural condition anti detonating of 120 or 130 octane.
Dual system: Vehicles could run with CNG and gasoline modifying a command which is situated in their instrumental panel.
