WHAT IS? |
|
|
|
| |
| Hydrogen
is an inodorous, uncoloured and insipid gas
formed by diatomic molecules. It is the simplest
and most abundant element in the universe,
representing 70 percent of its weight, because
is present at young stars, interstellar dust
and gas clouds suspended in the space. Also
constitutes the third compound after oxygen
and siliceous. Combined produce water, acids
and hydroxides, petroleum and organic matter. |

APLICATIONS |
|
 |
 |
Terrestrial
vehicle engines like cars, trucks,
buses, elevators, locomotors,
airplanes and ships. |
| |
|
 |
Stationary
electric generation in isolated
places or urban centres as own
generation or co generation, where
necessarily can not used electric
red due to security reasons, quality
service, or both factors. Some
important companies are producing
right now alternative engines
designed specially for hydrogen. |

STATUS |
|
 |
| As
free hydrogen could be found in volcanic emissions
because it is present at volcanic gases in
30 percent and also in the rock’s structure.
As chemically combined element is situated
in water, constituting the 10 % of its weight,
organic matter, natural gas, petroleum and
carbon. Almost 10 % of human body consist
on hydrogen. |

ADVANTAGES |
|
|
| |
Not
detonate in the open air. |
| |
Not
enter in auto combustion
or spontaneous combustion. |
|
|
 |
| |
Not
put water in danger. |
| |
Not
produce cancer. |
|
|
 |
| |
Not
decompose. |
| |
Not corrosive. |
|
|
 |
| |
When it burns with air in internal
combustion engines like gas turbines,
produces limited undesirable emissions. |
| |
Through
using of hydrogen in fuel
cells (CF), for example
in PEM’s ones (proton
exchange membrane), could
be avoided completely these
emissions. At energy generation
process through hydrogen
and air oxygen, the product
of the reaction is only
water, exempt of minerals,
like distillate water. |
|
|
 |
| |
It
is not toxic unless if contains
impurities (CO, As H3, etc). |
| |
Chemical
industry has been used hydrogen
during 100 years and experiences
about its security are positive. |
|
|
 |
| |
The
use of hydrogen in CF operations
at high temperatures causes 100
times lower emissions than those
ones produced by conventional
electric centrals. |
| |
It
is a secondary energy carrier
and offers the possibility
of introduce a flexible,
different and alternative
of renewable energies accumulation
in fuel markets. |
|
|
 |
| |
Not
radioactive. |
|
|
 |
| |
Not
produce bad smell. |
