The Japanese brand unveiled Conversion to Gas, a program that allows its customers to adapt the vehicle's engine fuel supply system to be powered by CNG or LPG.

October 11, 2021. In May of this year, the Japanese brand unveiled Conversion to Gas, a program that allows its customers to adapt the vehicle’s engine fuel supply system to be powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

The initiative is developed together with Gazo Sistemas a Gas Vehicular, the only certified supplier authorized by Nissan for this conversion.

Among the advantages generated by this alternative is an economic saving of up to 50% since the price of CNG and LPG is significantly lower than gasoline. In addition, the autonomy of vehicles fueled by natural gas is characterized by maintaining the same performance as a gasoline-powered engine. While the amortization between the investment and the recovery that is obtained by saving on fuel costs, is reflected between 6 and 7 months on average.

As part of the commitment to transition to a mobility without emissions, Conversion to Gas also represents a reduction of up to 96% in ozone pollutants, 95% of carbon monoxide and up to 20% in carbon dioxide produced mainly by the combustion of gasoline and other fuels.

The program is available for Nissan NP300, Nissan March, Nissan Urvan and Nissan V-Drive, starting with their 2020 model years. Given the demand, the network of authorized dealers to carry out the process now has an estimated 25 located across the country.
