November 23, 2022. Iveco Bus expands its sustainable offer for urban transport with a new urban midibus, available with a natural gas engine and compatible with biomethane, which will perfectly meet the needs of public transport operators in this segment to support them in its energy transition. The first deliveries are scheduled for mid-2024.
This is a new solution that has already convinced the Public Transport Purchasing Center (CATP), which wants to offer a new alternative to communities and public transport companies in France. The CATP has already referenced this future CNG midibus in its two lengths, 9.5 and 10.7 meters.
The new vehicle will complement the thermal and electric versions of the GX 137 and GX 137 L models, which are in circulation in 8 European countries and whose production has exceeded 1,200 units.
It will be equipped with a new 280 hp Tector 7 gas engine and will respond to the GSR regulatory changes that will come into force in July 2024.
Its compact dimensions (9.5 meters or 10.7 meters long and 2.33 meters wide) make it one of the most maneuverable vehicles in its class and perfectly adapted to the constraints of hyper-centres. In this new version of natural gas, it is the ideal complement to the range to advance sustainable mobility in city centers.
