March 1, 2023. In order to meet the demand of its customers in a timely manner, the Periféricas Lazcano company received a fleet of 33 natural gas-powered Foton buses, with a capacity for 100 passengers.

The units will be used to operate the two tenders that Periféricas Lazcano obtained in the Metrorrey Collective Transportation System for the next 10 years on the TransMetro lines.

The new fleet of vehicles was received by Félix Lazcano, President of the company’s board, from Ciro Picardi, General Manager of Foton Monterrey.

It is worth mentioning that this recent delivery of 33 units is added to the 22 privately acquired by the Tuesa company, which were delivered by Foton more than a month ago to fulfill the bidding contract they won in Metrorrey for a decade.

With both deliveries there are 490 buses belonging to the Foton brand that are circulating in Nuevo León, after Grupo Senda acquired 35 units of this same type and model almost three years ago.

Each bus has a capacity for 100 passengers, Cummins compressed natural gas (CNG) engine, Allison transmission, low entry, Wi-Fi and air conditioning. It is connected to the Integral Metropolitan Transit System, Sintram and to C5.

According to the company, this order means reducing the environmental impact in the State because it can reduce up to 87% of particulate matter, 15% the emission of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and up to 100% of carbon monoxide.
