ArcelorMittal Distribución Iberia expands its fleet with gas vehicles

ArcelorMittal Distribución Iberia has just added five new Scania vehicles to its fleet, two of which are powered by natural gas, which will allow it to contribute to its sustainability goals.

October 26, 2022. ArcelorMittal Distribución Iberia has just added five new Scania vehicles to its fleet, two of which are powered by natural gas, which will allow it to contribute to its sustainability goals.

Three of the new trucks belong to Scania’s P series, the most versatile of the brand, with a 13-litre engine with 450 hp and a maximum torque of 2,350 Nm. The fourth unit also belongs to the P series and has a 9-litre, 340 hp engine powered by compressed natural gas (CNG), offering a maximum torque of 1,600 Nm. It is a three-axle rigid vehicle with a fixed commercial body.

The fifth of the company’s new Scanias is a G-series tractor unit, with a 13-litre, 410bhp engine offering a maximum torque of 2,000 Nm and powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).

These vehicles, all of them equipped with a short cab, are going to deliver steel products and materials mainly to points in the Community of Madrid and Castilla-La Mancha.
