March 21, 2023. Bahiagás signed an agreement with Sindicombustíveis to train nearly 800 employees from 86 retail natural gas vehicle (NGV) stations to supply the product safely in the Brazilian state of Bahia.
The Manager of Safety, Environment and Health of Bahiagás, José Carlos Gallindo Júnior, pointed out that it is the third agreement signed between the company and Sindicombustíveis for the training of workers at the outlets. “This time we expanded the action, which will also include the participation of vehicle owners, who will receive a digital booklet with guidelines on the safe consumption of NGV and fuel efficiency.”
Also present at the event, the Commercial Manager of Large Clients, Elismar Correia, reinforced that natural gas is a safe product, however, its use must be done in accordance with safety regulations. “We are training filling station managers not only to supply fuel, but also to guide and educate consumers about the need to comply with safety regulations for the installation of the conversion kit and the periodic maintenance of the equipment.”
The Executive Secretary of Sindicombustíveis, Marcelo Travassos, thanked Bahiagás for the alliance, noting that the company is the only natural gas distributor in Brazil that supports this type of training. “This alliance is essential to ensure that retail NGV stations continue to act safely in the supply of the product.”
