July 8, 2021. In line with the national policy of reactivation of the energy sector of President Luis Arce, the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Energies, and the Executing Entity of Conversion to Natural Gas Vehicles (EEC-GNV), began the reactivation of this sector with the arrival of 32,040 cylinders for NGV, which will contribute to the change of the energy matrix of the national automotive fleet.
“The cylinders are of Italian origin, Faber S.p.A. and are 15% lighter than those manufactured by other industries, since they have a high-tech manufacturing process complying with international quality standards ISO 114 39 and ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 9001, which allows the vehicle to have less loading effort and higher performance”, stated the Executive Director of EEC-GNV, Karina Villacorta.
The arrival of the cylinders was scheduled in four deliveries, this being the first, and they have different capacities of 40, 50, 60, and 80 liters that will be distributed in the central axis of the cities of La Paz, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz. Likewise, the distribution in Oruro, Potosí and Sucre is planned, based on the analysis of the vehicle fleet in the respective departments.
For his part, the Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energies, Franklin Molina, stated that “there is an important result for our government and for the management that is being carried out within the framework of a policy for the use of gas vehicles, which began as a result of the process of nationalization of hydrocarbons and the recovery of our natural resources for the benefit of the Bolivian people, whose proposal for the country has been to transform our internal energy matrix; this transformation was a policy led at the time by our former President Evo Morales, since the creation of the EEC-GNV”.
