August 19, 2022. CNG Fuels has completed the development and commissioning of its latest Bio-CNG service station in the United Kingdom. The site has been open to all current and future customers of the company in Castleford, Wakefield, located at the heart of Normanton Industrial Estate.
The new facility will serve both local businesses with large heavy goods vehicles (HGV) and passing fleets that need to refuel during journeys to and from the North East of England. A total of 10 dispensers are located in the station with a capacity to fill over 400 HGV’s daily with 100% renewable and sustainable biomethane fuel.
This new opening marks the tenth large-scale public access Bio-CNG refuelling station of the firm, expanding its network across the UK area. The other locations have been established in Warrington, Avonmouth, Bellshill (Scotland), Leyland, Erdington, Northampton, Crewe, Newark and Knowsley.
CNG Fuels has accelerated its efforts to open new stations this year and keep up a one site per month schedule from 2023 onwards. Currently, the company is due to begin the construction of three more Bio-CNG stations over the next few months.
