Construction begins on Bio-CNG station in Tougas

Developed by the joint venture Biogaz44, this new facility will open in December 2026.

July 9, 2026. Vendée Énergie and EnR44 laid the foundation stone for the future Bio-CNG station in Tougas, Saint-Herblain (Loire-Atlantique), in the presence of the French project partners.

Developed by the joint venture Biogaz44, this new facility will open in December 2026 and will offer local businesses a durable, locally sourced, low-carbon mobility solution fueled by locally produced biomethane.

During the ceremony, Hugo François, Vice President of SYDEV and Director of Vendée Énergie, emphasized that this new station is the result of cooperation between two regions: a key element in driving the energy transition at the local level, in terms of mobility and energy consumption. He also highlighted the strength of the public-private partnership model, a tool for local participation, responsiveness, and innovation at the service of communities.

With this second public Bio-CNG station operated by EnR44 in Loire-Atlantique, and the seven existing facilities in Vendée for Vendée Énergie, this alliance concretely illustrates how two neighboring regions are collaborating to achieve low-carbon mobility.
