November 19, 2023. Gironde Energies and ENGIE Solutions collaborated to establish a Bio-CNG service station in Beychac-et-Caillau, in order to act in favor of the decarbonization of mobility.
The new station was inaugurated on November 8 by SEM Gironde Energies and GNVERT, the natural gas mobility offer of ENGIE Solutions, in the presence of Philippe Garrigue, Mayor of Beychac, Vice-President of the Departmental Union of Energy and the Environment of Gironde (SDEEG) and Director of SEM Gironde Energies.
Bio-CNG offers its users autonomy and a charging time equal to that of conventional refueling. It guarantees an 80% reduction in CO2 compared to diesel in its organic version, almost no emission of fine particles and a 50% reduction in noise pollution. It also contributes to the development of the sector, which creates local jobs that cannot be relocated, and to the energy independence of France.
Located at the gates of the Bordeaux metropolis and close to the main roads and highways, the station consolidates the territorial network of the New Aquitaine region and accelerates the decarbonization of the mobility of the economic and public actors in the region.
It will also allow heavy vehicles in transit to benefit from permanent refueling and access low-emission zones, which are on the rise in many metropolises and urban areas, thanks to its Crit’Air 1 environmental classification.
In addition, the green gas station offers the possibility of recharging electric vehicles thanks to the presence of a 120 kW supercharger from the MOBIVE public network supported by the SDEEG.
The Beychac-et-Caillau facilities are sized to specifically meet the needs of road freight transport and local logistics operators. They can also refuel all types of light and heavy vehicles 7 days a week and 24 hours a day.
