The Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energy of Bolivia and the Director of the Executing Entity for the Conversion to Natural Gas for Vehicles launched the NGV conversion program with kits of sequential injection in Chuquisaca.

August 5, 2022. The Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energy of Bolivia, Franklin Molina Ortiz, and the Director of the Executing Entity for the Conversion to Natural Gas for Vehicles (EEC-GNV), Karina Villacorta, launched the NGV conversion program with kits of sequential injection in Chuquisaca in order to promote the use of this technology in the automotive fleet of the region and thus promote the energy transition.

“This initiative marks a milestone in terms of technological change and is a demonstration of the Government’s concern, led by our President Luis Arce, to advance in the transformation of the energy matrix and in the generation of jobs,” said the Minister. .

Molina highlighted the State policy of economic reactivation carried out by the Executive, which contemplates this type of program that allows public and private transport to save on fuel consumption, since NGV is 60% cheaper than gasoline.

For her part, Villacorta explained that this technology uses natural gas more efficiently to generate power in the vehicle, similar to running on gasoline. “We have seen that this option is widely accepted, which is why we have acquired 11,000 5th-generation kits for this year, of which it is estimated that 2,000 will be used for conversions in Chuquisaca”, she asserted.
