May 28, 2025. Grupo Lodemo inaugurated the first compressed natural gas (CNG) station, OptaGas Natural, and the first super-fast charging electric station, Go Energy, in Mérida, propelling Yucatán toward a new era of sustainable mobility and energy development in Mexico.
“Today we celebrate innovation and commitment to our customers, fundamental pillars that have distinguished Grupo Lodemo for more than 60 years. This investment strengthens our position in the regional energy transition,” said Lodemo CEO Víctor Cicero Alonzo.
Mayor Cecilia Patrón Laviada highlighted the importance of these initiatives for Mérida, stating that “these stations represent a significant advance in sustainability, quality of life, and family finances, positioning the city as a leader in sustainable mobility.”
For his part, the state Secretary of Economy and Labor, Ermilo Barrera Novelo, emphasized that the energy transition is an urgent reality. “Grupo Lodemo is a clear example of business adaptation and innovation in Yucatán. We must understand that the energy sector is changing, and those who do not adapt will be left behind,” he said.
The OptaGas Natural station, located on the Lic. Manuel Berzunza Ring Road, in the Juan Pablo II Extension neighborhood, required an investment of approximately 50 million pesos. It will allow for savings of up to 40% in fuel costs and significantly reduce polluting emissions, primarily benefiting corporate fleets and high-mileage private vehicles.
