April 3, 2026. Indian city gas distributor IRM Energy Limited has reached a significant network milestone, commissioning its 150th compressed natural gas (CNG) station. The new station, located in Banaskantha, Gujarat, became operational on March 31, 2026.
During the financial year 2025–26, IRM Energy added 39 new CNG stations, demonstrating steady progress in expanding its network across its authorized geographical areas.
CNG remains a key growth driver for the company, contributing nearly 60% of its overall gas volumes. The expansion supports India’s broader push toward cleaner transportation, with CNG positioned as a cost-effective alternative to conventional fuels for public transport and private vehicles.
The 150-station landmark underlines IRM Energy’s positioning as one of India’s faster-growing city gas distribution operators, as the country continues to expand multi-energy infrastructure across urban and semi-urban corridors.
