March 27, 2024. The best truck ever manufactured by Iveco in Brazil, the S-Way, was chosen by the Cetric Group, which offers its customers a complete waste collection, reception, treatment and transportation service, to operate in the version powered by natural gas and biomethane. 28 units of the model were negotiated and will be delivered this year. The S-Way NG has the FPT Cursor 13 engine, 460 hp, the most powerful on the market, and has a total capacity of 960 liters (240 m3), providing the greatest autonomy among natural gas-powered vehicles in the country.
Marcio Querichelli, President of Iveco for Latin America, highlights that the automaker has a strong commitment to the decarbonization of transportation, and the S-Way NG is part of the brand’s multi-energy strategy. “We firmly believe in natural gas and biomethane as the best transition fuel option to diesel. In this sense, we have the S-Way NG and Tector NG models operating in mixed and road operations. For the urban segment, eDaily, the electric version of the renowned Daily line, will be our main bet, but we will not stop there. Soon, Iveco will begin testing the FPT F1C Bi-Fuel engine, which uses ethanol or biomethane, separately, in addition to green hydrogen,” concludes Querichelli.
The collaboration between Iveco and the Cetric Group also includes the Rota Azul Project. The innovative initiative aims to install biomethane filling stations along the BR-282/470 highway, in Santa Catarina, creating the necessary infrastructure to promote the use of biomethane as a sustainable fuel.
