June 4, 2022. The French company specializing in truck rental with four agencies deployed in Ille-et-Vilaine and Côtes-d’Armor, Loca-Parc, has just received five new compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles that are added to a fleet of nearly 200 units for distribution and supply. Towards the end of the year, three more CNG trucks will be incorporated. Loca-Parc justifies this choice because the gaseous fuel reduces CO2 emissions by 80% and also noise pollution.

“Our main clients, in particular those of mass distribution, support us in this ecological transition. They are committed to us for the long term”, according to Bruno Le Scanf, General Manager of Loca-Parc. Thanks to its customers, carriers, retail brands or hazardous product collection operators, the company is able to cope with inflation and rising gas prices, which are once again more expensive than diesel.

Of course, Loca-Parc’s commitment to natural gas is also linked to the prospect of deploying Low Emission Zones (ZFE). Starting in 2025, vehicles without the Crit’Air 1 sticker will be prohibited from entering city centers.
