April 29, 2025. The Minister of Planning, Rubén Etcheverry, participated in an event organized by JBS, Scania, and Tecpetrol for Sustainable Logistics in Neuquén, Argentina. The initiative seeks to promote more efficient logistics in the Vaca Muerta region, seeking to reduce emissions, costs, and environmental impact, while strengthening the strategic relationship between the companies involved.
The meeting was held at the Casino Magic Hotel in the city of Neuquén, prior to the Vaca Muerta Insights event. The main objective was to highlight the acquisition of new native compressed natural gas (CNG) trucks (only gas and without a conversion kit) by JBS, an initiative promoted by Tecpetrol that demonstrates a joint commitment to sustainability in the industry and is part of a larger effort to promote the use of CNG vehicles nationwide. This initiative aims to achieve more efficient logistics in the Vaca Muerta region. It seeks to reduce emissions, costs, and environmental impact. At the same time, it aims to strengthen the strategic relationship between the companies involved. The Ministry of Planning emphasized that JBS’s investment in natural gas trucks represents a significant step toward more environmentally friendly logistics operations within the oil and gas sector in Neuquén.
Neuquén Province, driven by Governor Rolando Figueroa, is working to promote and develop a national plan for the intensive use of natural gas vehicles throughout the country.
The Scania units are 410 HP, 6×2 traction, double-trailer trucks with a Smart system and a range of 750 km.
