May 31, 2023. The Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru invites owners of light vehicles to continue joining the NGV Savings Program, which provides, in the case of units that use liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), a discount of S/ 2,000 in the final price of the conversion to compressed natural gas (CNG), a clean and accessible fuel for all Peruvians.
The aforementioned program, which operates with the resources of the Social Energy Inclusion Fund (FISE), makes it possible to finance vehicle conversions to CNG at a national level, without interest and with repayment within a maximum period of 3 years through fuel refills carried out by the beneficiary.
For owners of LPG vehicles, this year a Discount Bond of S/ 2,000 is being delivered on the cost of the vehicle transformation service, with no return charge on the part of the beneficiary, and the balance of the cost of the service will be financed under the regular scheme of the NGV Savings Program.
For the Ministry, the implementation of this Discount Bond will contribute to encourage the conversion of vehicles from LPG to CNG, since it means a subsidy of approximately 50% of the cost of the standard operation to natural gas, and that the beneficiary also has the possibility of paying the total for the service through fuel refills.
The bonus will be implemented in all regions that have natural gas filling stations such as Lima, Callao, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Ancash, Junín, Ica and Cusco.
It should be noted that this discount may be accessed by both natural and legal persons who own a vehicle with an LPG system installed and working.
