October 6, 2022. Iveco delivers 60 S-Way units powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Nicolosi Trasporti, a company from Catania that deals with the transport of goods in regional and national territory. The delivery ceremony for the vehicles, which will be added to the 43 already circulating in the Nicolosi fleet to complete the order, reaching a total of 150 LNG-powered trucks, took place in Catania at the headquarters of the Primosole Dealership.
The 60 Iveco S-Way, model AS440S46 T/P 2LNG, are polar white 4×2 tractors and HI-TRONIX 12-speed gearbox. Inside the cabin, comfort is guaranteed by a pneumatic fabric seat with lumbar adjustment, two beds, independent heating, removable fridge with isothermal container and individual storage under the floor. Thanks to the Aero Plus package, the vehicles are equipped with intelligent auxiliaries (variable displacement power steering pump, 630 cc twin-cylinder air compressor and 115 Ah alternator), upper and side spoilers and front aerodynamic flaps. They are complete and technological units also in terms of connectivity, thanks to the Iveco Driver Pal digital travel companion, created with Amazon Web Services and Amazon Alexa functionality.
Due to the infrastructural development of the LNG distribution network in Sicily, within Nicolosi Trasporti there is a refueling plant for this fuel, the only one for the moment in Sicily, an important supply point for local transport, through the which the company aims to reduce the impact of vehicles on the climate and the environment and, at the same time, respond to the needs of a customer who is increasingly sensitive to these issues.
