Paratori SpA purchases 15 new Volvo FH Aero LNG trucks

The Italian company has a fleet of approximately 180 vehicles, more than 80 of which run on liquefied natural gas.

April 5, 2026. Paratori SpA is reinforcing its commitment to low-impact logistics by adding fifteen new Volvo FH Aero natural gas trucks to its fleet. This transaction, finalized at the Volvo Truck Center in Alessandria, is not an isolated event, but rather represents the continuation of an innovative strategy launched in 2017, when the Italian company began investing in alternative fuels, anticipating industry trends.

With a fleet of approximately 180 vehicles, more than 80 of which run on liquefied natural gas (LNG), Paratori SpA is demonstrating how operational efficiency can be combined with reduced emissions, achieving CO2 reductions of up to 100% through the use of biomethane.

The true driver of the company’s profitability lies in intermodal transport, which currently generates approximately half of its total revenue. The model is based on seamless integration between road and rail, with LNG trucks handling the first and last mile, while long-distance routes to Northern Europe and the UK are served by train or ferry. The choice of Volvo vehicles was for practical reasons: their technical reliability, range of nearly 900 km, and auxiliary diesel tank ensure operational continuity even in emergency situations, while also enhancing driver comfort.
