Protranser moves 32 CNG buses from China to Colombia

The shipment comprised two types of buses: 12-meter models and 18.5-meter models.

August 24, 2026. The Protranser team managed the export of 32 compressed natural gas (CNG) buses from Yantai, China, to Cartagena, Colombia.

The shipment comprised two types of buses: 12-meter models and 18.5-meter models. The total volume consisted of 32 units (approximately 4,000 cubic meters): twenty-seven 12-meter buses and five 18.5-meter buses. The 18.5-meter vehicles are articulated, requiring a high level of operational skill at the terminal due to the need for combined and perfectly synchronized lifting operations; a deviation of just 10 degrees in the center section during loading could have caused damage to the vehicle. After carefully analyzing options involving various ports and lifting equipment, the company proposed a solution that was accepted by the client, ultimately allowing all buses to be loaded safely. The project scope included customs clearance and port management services.
