October 22, 2025. Following the international public tender launched on July 30 for the acquisition of 50 articulated buses (plus 10 optional buses) for passenger transport, the Sociedade de Transportes Colectivos do Porto (STCP), Portugal, announces that the award of the proposal submitted by competitor UBSI Europa has been published on the Vortal Platform.
The total value of the awarded contract is €20,795,000 and includes 50 vehicles powered by natural gas or biomethane. If STCP decides to exercise the option to acquire 10 more, the final value of the contract will be €24,954,000.
The delivery of the new vehicles (18-meter articulated buses) will take place in phases between the end of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027.
These buses replace the current 49 articulated vehicles (20 diesel and 29 CNG), thus continuing the fleet renewal process and ensuring a more environmentally and economically efficient public service.
UBSI Europa is recognized for its collaboration with some of the industry’s leading brands and acts as an authorized service center for Solaris, Iveco, Mercedes-Benz, DAF, MAN, and Scania. It is also responsible for the import of BMC, a major Turkish bus manufacturer, which will produce these new STCP vehicles.
