September 28, 2023. Terpel continues to advance its expansion and innovation plan in the natural gas vehicles (NGV) sector, with the upcoming opening of four new stations dedicated to this energy. The company aims to close the year 2023 with a total of 219 service points nationwide.
Through its Gazel brand, Terpel offers vehicle owners, both private and heavy, the possibility of traveling long distances on Colombia’s roads, promoting the interconnection of cities through NGV filling stations. Currently, the company successfully operates 80 facilities strategically located in freight corridors, known as green corridors.
Johand Patiño, Commercial Vice President of Terpel, said: “Currently, vehicles that use NGV can travel longer distances thanks to our network of strategically located refueling stations. We are committed to meeting the growing demand of the industry, focusing on heavy vehicles, which increasingly opt for this product due to its cost efficiency and operability. NGV, in addition to providing environmental benefits, allows significant savings for users compared to other fuel alternatives.”
The Gazel stations located in the green corridors stand out for their spaciousness, facilitating the maneuvers of cargo vehicles. In addition, they have a robust compression capacity that reduces filling times, and they have backup power plants to guarantee supply even in situations of lack of electricity.
Terpel, through Gazel, markets an average of 15 million cubic meters of NGV per month, serving more than 162 thousand private customers and more than 4 thousand units dedicated to public and heavy service.
The four new specialized NGV stations will be located in Puerto Salgar (Cundinamarca), Aguachica and Bosconia (Cesar), and Cartagena. These facilities will have a compression capacity of 1,900 cubic meters per hour, which will reduce filling times and optimize the logistics operations of transporters.
