January 19, 2025. Starting on January 20, Transcaribe will begin testing the Pilot Ecobus, an ecological vehicle that will offer free rides for two weeks.
The route will connect the Rafael Núñez International Airport with the El Laguito neighborhood, passing through key points in the city of Cartagena, Colombia.
The Ecobus will operate during peak hours, from Monday to Friday, in two time slots: from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
During this period, users will be able to board without needing the Transcaribe Card.
The vehicle uses natural gas for vehicles (NGV), a more environmentally friendly option, and has modern amenities such as security cameras, LED screens, USB ports and a sound system.
The test phase aims to assess the viability of this route and gather information for the possible implementation of five new routes. Transcaribe invites citizens to participate and contribute their comments on the experience.
This project reflects Cartagena’s commitment to sustainable mobility, expanding public transport options and improving the quality of life of its inhabitants.
