Empresa Casal upgrades its fleet with new CNG vehicles for the Seville metropolitan area

Casal adopts low-emission, efficient and cost-effective technological solutions, without compromising on fleet reliability and availability.

February 27, 2026. In Spain, Empresa Casal renews its trust in Iveco Bus with the acquisition of 17 new vehicles for the Seville metropolitan area. The delivery includes CROSSWAY Hybrid models for intercity services and URBANWAY buses powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) for urban routes, further consolidating a long-standing collaboration built on a core principle: operational reliability.

This new investment pursues a dual objective: improving passenger service quality and contributing to the decarbonization of public transport in the Seville metropolitan area. With the integration of these new vehicles, Casal adopts low-emission, efficient and cost-effective technological solutions, without compromising on fleet reliability and availability.

The CROSSWAY Hybrid models combine an optimized internal combustion engine with an electric system that recovers braking energy, reducing fuel consumption and emissions, particularly under variable operating conditions. Meanwhile, the URBANWAY CNG buses offer a proven and mature solution for urban environments, significantly reducing pollutant emissions and noise levels during operation – key assets in high-density areas such as the Seville metropolitan region.

Beyond technology, Casal has selected vehicles recognized for their reliability and in-service performance, ensuring high availability, optimized maintenance and controlled operating costs – critical factors for a public transport operator.
