Pasarex acquires fleet of 10 natural gas-powered cargo vans

The estimated investment for this upgrade is $640 million and was made in partnership with Dfac | Dongfeng.

March 12, 2026. Pasarex acquired a new fleet of 10 cargo vans powered by compressed natural gas (CNG). The estimated investment for this upgrade is $640 million and was made in partnership with Dfac | Dongfeng, the Asian brand imported to Colombia by Magma Automotive, part of the Magna Group.

“This is a commitment that reaffirms our dedication to operational efficiency and the incorporation of more sustainable technologies in corporate transportation,” says Erick Gutiérrez, General Manager of Magma Automotive.

With this, Pasarex will be able to operate a more sustainable, environmentally friendly, and higher-performing fleet in Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, and Barranquilla compared to other vehicles fueled by gasoline or diesel.

The natural gas-powered pickup truck, distributed by Greccomotors and positioned in the light commercial vehicle segment, is designed for urban transport and business logistics operations. It features a 1.6-liter Euro 6 compliant engine that generates 105 horsepower at 6,000 revolutions per minute (rpm), paired with a five-speed manual transmission.

The engine delivers 13 kg/m of torque at 4,800 rpm and is designed specifically for CNG, optimized to take full advantage of the fuel’s chemical and thermodynamic properties, thus enhancing performance.

“The vehicle offers ample cargo capacity, allowing it to carry up to 1,200 kilograms, thereby boosting logistics operations. It also incorporates a multimedia system with a nine-inch screen, radio, rearview camera, and air conditioning, providing comfort and functionality for the driver throughout the workday,” said Miguel Zamudio, Product manager at Dfac | Dongfeng.
