July 31, 2026. Iveco Bus will participate in Lat.Bus 2026, presenting the BUS 170G21 chassis, powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) and biomethane, and expanding the discussion to accelerate the energy transition in Latin America.
Iveco Bus’s global multi-energy strategy offers operators different propulsion solutions according to the needs of each mission.
In Latin America, natural gas and, primarily, biomethane represent a concrete opportunity to accelerate this transformation. These fuels allow for a significant reduction in emissions, lower noise levels, and performance equivalent to diesel, utilizing a refueling infrastructure already available in numerous cities in the region. Furthermore, they offer an economically viable alternative for operators seeking to reduce their environmental impact without compromising operational efficiency.

One of the main benefits of the BUS 170G21 is the reduction of up to 95% in particulate matter emissions when fueled with biomethane, directly contributing to improved air quality in urban centers.
It is equipped with the FPT N60 NG Otto cycle engine, which was specifically developed for gas applications. With 210 hp and 760 Nm of torque, it offers diesel-equivalent performance and a range of up to 350 kilometers, depending on the storage cylinder configuration, in addition to providing low noise levels during operation.
