July 19, 2021. The General Council of the Executing Entity of Conversion to Natural Gas Vehicles (EEC-GNV) of Bolivia authorized the acquisition of cylinders for natural gas vehicles (NGV) with a capacity of 100 liters, after approving the report of its Executive General Director, Karina Villacorta, in which she detailed the work she has carried out since joining the entity.
“Our first General Council meeting was successful. Only joint and coordinated work will allow us to have effective results to carry out the change of the energy matrix in the country,” said Villacorta.
For his part, the Executive Secretary of the Bolivian Drivers Confederation, Ismael Fernández, who is part of the General Council, assured that “it is important that there be a reactivation on the issue of conversion. With the purchase of more than 32,000 cylinders and with the authorization of the 100-liter tanks, I think we are going to reactivate”.
According to a study and analysis carried out by technical staff of the EEC-GNV, one of the cylinder capacities that presented the most demand between 2017 and 2021 is 100 liters.
The procedures for the purchase of the first 7,000 cylinders will begin the following week through the call for expressions of interest in the national market. This decision will contribute to the fulfillment of the goals of conversion of vehicles to natural gas of the 2021 and 2022 managements, according to Villacorta.
