January 23, 2023. Naturgy’s Director of New Business, Silvia Sanjoaquín, has been appointed the new President of Gasnam-Neutral Transport, the Iberian association that promotes sustainable transport and integrates the biomethane, synthetic gas and hydrogen value chain by land, sea and air.
Sanjoaquín faces this new position with enthusiasm and a lot of energy, since “renewable gases are called to play a decisive role in the decarbonization of transport.” “Electrification is not enough to face the challenges associated with the energy transition, mainly in sectors that are difficult to electrify, such as heavy transport,” adds the directive.
For the new President of Gasnam-Neutral Transport, “the current context at a European level with the RePowerEU, together with the need to promote a sustainable and circular economy, offers a unique opportunity to develop the full potential of renewable gases in Spain and make of our country one of the leaders at a European level”.
Sanjoaquín takes over from Francisco López, who has led the association for the last 4 years.
The new President faces this new stage accompanied by the association’s General Secretary, Eugenia Sillero, and the three Vice-Presidents: the Vice-President of the Energy section, Claudio Rodríguez (Enagás); the Vice-President of the Land section, Jose Luis Pérez Souto (Iveco); and the Vice-President of the Maritime Section, Jose Poblet (Cotenaval). All of them are part of the association’s Board of Directors, which is made up of 15 members representing the companies Alimerka, Cidaut, Cotenaval, Dourogas, Enagás, Galp, Gas&Go, Ghenova, Iveco, Naturgy, Puerto de Huelva, Reganosa, Seat, Transportes Mariné and Wärtsila.
