October 16, 2021. Since the relaunch of the national program for conversion to natural gas for vehicles (NGV) on July 8, 7.481 units migrated to this alternative fuel until October 12, as a result of the management of the Executing Entity of Conversion to Natural Gas Vehicles (EEC-GNV), dependent on the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Energies of Bolivia.
The department where the most conversions were made is La Paz, which registered 2.843, followed by Cochabamba, where 2.002 cars switched to this fuel. Likewise, Santa Cruz reported 1.924, Chuquisaca 370, Oruro 251, and Potosí 91.
People who transform their vehicles to gas, either to work as public transport or for private use, have the advantage of saving on fuel costs, because at present the price of NGV is 60% cheaper than the gasoline.
On the other hand, they emit less carbon dioxide than gasoline, so the use of this fuel also helps to take care of the environment.
The EEC-GNV has been carrying out the initiatives for the conversion of vehicles to natural gas, requalification and maintenance of equipment for more than 10 years. With the acquisition of 32.040 cylinders of 40, 50, 60, and 80 liters, on July 8, the national program that was paralyzed during the 2020 administration was relaunched.
