August 30, 2022. Ambipar takes another important step in the fight against climate change and in fulfilling its ambition to lead the transition towards a low carbon circular economy.
The Sustainable Corridor Project begins the change in the energy matrix of its fleet towards renewable and cleaner sources, with the large-scale incorporation of compressed natural gas (CNG) trucks. With the arrival of the new vehicles, the company positions itself as a transforming agent of the logistics segment in Brazil with more sustainable solutions.
This is an action by Ambipar that brings safe and intelligent mobility closer to chemical product transport operations for Dow Chemical. The initiative is in line with the ESG strategies of the companies and the objective of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in their operations.
With an estimated initial investment of R$ 30 million, Ambipar integrates trucks with technology for the use of compressed natural gas (CNG), Scania R 410 6X2 model, into its fleet. In the first year of circulation of the new units, Ambipar estimates a 20% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions in the Corridor.
“We have a strong goal, which is to have 100% of our vehicle fleet with a cleaner energy matrix by 2040. With the help of our partners, we will act in a conscientious and efficient manner, in addition to driving a major transformation in logistics and generate a positive impact for the environment”, says Hélio José Branco Matias, Director of Ambipar.
