Bravo invests in the purchase of natural gas and biomethane trucks in Brazil

Bravo Serviços Logísticos announced the expansion of its fleet through the incorporation of four Scania trucks powered by natural gas and/or biomethane.

July 22, 2022. In compliance with the planning of sustainability and social and environmental responsibility actions, Bravo Serviços Logísticos announced the expansion of its fleet through the incorporation of four Scania trucks powered by natural gas and/or biomethane. Considered an important solution to reduce the local emission of pollutants, such as NOx and particulate matter, compared to diesel versions, the new gas vehicles acquired by the mining company are the result of an investment of more than R$ 3 million.

Thanks to a partnership with Geo Biogas & Tech, the units will be experimentally fueled with biomethane, a clean and renewable fuel that emits even fewer pollutants and has the potential to replace 70% of diesel consumption. In addition to the significant reduction in emissions, the extra-heavy vehicles also ensure a 20% decrease in noise levels.

“For us it is gratifying to start an innovative project aligned with the circular economy. One of our strategies to reduce CO2 emissions in transportation is to look for alternative fuels, such as biomethane”, says Viviane Ruza, Sustainability Manager at Bravo Serviços Logísticos.

For Alessandro Gardemann, CEO of Geo Biogas & Tech, biomethane is a clean and viable solution to decarbonize logistics transport, which is one of the great challenges in the energy transition process towards clean sources in the next decade. “Bravo is one of the companies that is committed to the decarbonization of its operations, betting on a solution that is capable of 100% substituting natural gas of fossil origin and, to a large extent, diesel, thus enabling a more sustainable operation for the logistic company,” he says.
