May 13, 2019. Correos, the Spanish postal and parcel service operator, has expanded and renewed its fleet with the purchase of 158 vehicles destined for the distribution. 25% (40 units) move with ecological technologies: electric or powered by compressed natural gas (CNG).
In this way, the postal company will allocate more than two million euros to the improvement of its fleet “with the aim of continuing to guarantee the supply of its logistics services in a market that keeps growing, especially in relation to electronic commerce,” they explain.
Of these 158 vehicles, 35 are electric vans awarded to Renault, while another five are driven by CNG, awarded to Volkswagen and Iveco, which has resulted in a total disbursement of 1,015,500 euros. The commitment to this type of vehicles not only responds to the commitment of Correos for sustainability, but also, after evaluating all options, it has been decided by the most versatile and respectful environmental with regulations of the population centers to which they will be destined to give service.
