Eni to open gas stations in Egypt in partnership with Gastec

Gastec Company and Eni have signed an agreement to open natural gas fueling stations in various areas of Egypt.

A statement by the Ministry of Petroleum said the Government is looking to expand the use of natural gas for transport and encourage people to switch to NGVs, particularly in Upper Egypt, reports Egypt Today.

The agreement between Gastec and the Italian oil company includes the use of the Eni brand, a shareholder in Gastec, to establish modern service stations with natural gas dispensers, said Minister Tarek el Molla.

Eni has a 40% participating interest in Gastec that is active in the CNG business for vehicles. According to Gastec’s website, the company currently has 89 fueling stations.
