December 22, 2022. Christophe Ferrari, President of Grenoble Alpes Métropole, Eric Piolle, Mayor of Grenoble and Jean-Baptiste Furia, Director of GNVERT, inaugurated on December 13 the compressed natural gas (CNG) and Bio-CNG filling station located in the National Interest Market (MIN) in Grenoble, France.
Following a call for expression of interest, Grenoble Metropolis chose ENGIE Solutions to build and manage this new multi-fuel station for a period of 15 years. To promote the agricultural dynamism of the territory, ENGIE Solutions has undertaken to ensure that the biomethane distributed by the station is guaranteed to be of local origin, through one or more methanizers located mainly in Isère.
At the heart of the MIN, the strategic location of the station allows the city of Grenoble to meet the growing needs of its vehicle fleet, mainly based at the nearby Balzac facilities. The new station will also encourage MIN users (ie around 100 units per day for customers and up to 80 for wholesalers) to convert their fleet to (Bio) CNG. This will also be the case for users who go to the nearby professional waste disposal center, as well as to the companies in the surrounding area.
The facility can refuel all types of vehicles: private, light and heavy commercial. It offers public and reserved access for MIN users (in the closed area). It is made up of 3 refueling terminals but also 2 50 kW fast electric charging stations, according to the city’s request.
