June 2, 2024. Iveco is preparing to accompany Metallica on the European dates of the M72 World Tour, as part of the association announced last November in Barcelona on the occasion of the presentation of the automotive terminal’s renewed range. Together, Iveco and Metallica aim to promote the reduction of CO2 emissions and support the communities that will host the concerts through a shared commitment in the name of sustainability. The collaboration involves the provision of low-emission transport solutions at all nine stops on the European tour (Munich, Milan, Vienna, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Oslo, Clisson, Warsaw and Madrid), including minibuses and trucks powered by natural gas, electricity and renewable diesel that will take care of the logistics of the concert material and the rock band’s entourage. In the final stages of the tour, a fuel cell electric truck will also join the brand’s multi-energy fleet.
In addition, Iveco will collaborate with Shell to refuel vehicles with Bio-LNG and renewable diesel, relying on the energy company’s network of service stations.
The fleet that will accompany Metallica on their European tour will be made up of ten natural gas Iveco S-Ways and four renewable diesel S-Ways, which will be used to transport the band’s equipment using Shell’s supply network. They will be joined by a convoy that will provide more logistical support consisting of two S-eWay (the first purely electric heavy vehicle built entirely by Iveco), two S-Way powered by LNG and one S-Way powered by renewable diesel. For the final Spanish dates of the tour, they will also be joined by a fuel cell S-eWay.
Likewise, eDaily minibuses and an Evadys coach from sister company Iveco Bus will provide a transportation service for the entire delegation.
