Hiper Usera emphasizes its sustainable transport using CNG vans

Hiper Usera reinforces its commitment to sustainable transport with the addition of a new shipment of CNG vans to its fleet of vehicles.

September 3, 2021. Hiper Usera reinforces its commitment to sustainable transport with the addition of a new shipment of compressed natural gas (CNG) vans to its fleet of vehicles. These units will be used for maintenance work at the company’s facilities and points of sale, located in the Community of Madrid and the provinces of Toledo and Guadalajara, Spain.

In this way, the Madrid distribution chain reaches 16 vans of this type, in addition to the 38 cars and a truck that also run on CNG and that complete its transport fleet. In total, there are already more than 50 CNG vehicles that the entity has.

“The commitment to the environment, which is one of the great values of Hiper Usera, continues to grow thanks to acquisitions like these, which have been common in recent years and have already become one of the signs of identity of the company”, explain sources in the chain.

Since 2017, the Spanish firm has been carrying out a series of reforms in its points of sale, where it is incorporating elements such as LED lights or Carrier cold rooms, which emit less carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

In fact, for each refurbished store, Hiper Usera contributes to reducing a total of 5,000 tons of carbon dioxide, the equivalent of removing 2,000 diesel or 2,500 gasoline cars from traffic.
