December 12, 2021. Anadolu Isuzu, one of Turkey’s leading commercial vehicle brands, continues to achieve global success with environmentally friendly and innovative vehicles. Kendo CNG has been named the “Sustainable Bus of the Year” in the Intercity segment at “Sustainable Bus Award 2022,” co-organized by seven prestigious commercial vehicle magazines published in Italy, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Romania, and Slovenia.
Made up of international experts, the Sustainable Bus Award jury evaluates the short-listed vehicles based on various factors such as design, fuel efficiency, emissions, safety, comfort, noise, recyclability of components and the general environmental commitment of the manufacturer.
At 13 meters long, the Isuzu Kendo CNG is the first and only vehicle in this segment to be manufactured in Turkey. Additionally, Isuzu is one of Europe’s three leading brands in this segment. Kendo CNG, which has managed to reduce its emissions to acceptable levels thanks to its 100% biogas compatible CNG engine, was designed for transportation along short inter-city and long intra-city routes. Manufactured specifically for personnel and student transportation, the Kendo series also stands out thanks to its fuel efficiency and large luggage capacity. With a luggage volume of 7.5 cubic meters, Kendo can also serve in tourism transportation thanks to its high comfort and functionality.
Developed at Anadolu Isuzu’s R&D center and equipped with smart security systems, Isuzu Kendo makes a difference in the segment with its multi-functional instrument panel and self-diagnosis features. The model provides top ergonomy with comfortable driver and passenger areas. Isuzu Kendo also offers operators a significant advantage with its driver and driving scoring system. Designed by the Anadolu Isuzu Design Office and standing out with its aerodynamic body, dynamic LED turn signal and daytime running lamps, digital instrument panel and innovative lines, Kendo has received two major awards from international authorities with its unique design: the “Gold A’ Design Award” at the Italy-based A’ Design Award & Competition in 2020, and the “Product Design Award” at the BigSEE Awards in 2021, organized to encourage creativity across Europe.
