Iveco and Andes Motor contribute to the development of LNG in Chile

Iveco participated in the inauguration of a new Lipigas liquefied natural gas filling station in Chile.

April 9, 2024. In Chile, where the representation of the brand is carried out through Andes Motor, a strategic partner of the firm since 2022, a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) service station was recently inaugurated in Paine -in the Metropolitan Region of Santiago-, and an S-Way model was the protagonist. This new facility joins those inaugurated in Linares and Tabolango and is part of what will be an entire coverage network that will connect from Arica to Puerto Montt, a length of more than 3000km.

“We have noticed that in recent times natural gas has gained a lot of strength in the region, accelerating the process of knowledge and choice by transporters of trucks powered by CNG/LNG. The transition to new alternative energies is of great interest to companies not only because of cost efficiency but also because of the great environmental and health benefits. That is why accompanying these types of important projects that aim to create an entire cargo coverage network in the country is essential. Together, we will continue working towards decarbonization,” said Luciane Dall’Oglio, Iveco’s Commercial Director for importing countries.

“At Andes Motor we are proud to be part of such an important action that has the ultimate goal of contributing to decarbonization by offering cleaner products that are lower in polluting materials. We have been collaborating side by side with Iveco to be able to offer the best products and accompany companies in the transition to more ecological and efficient propulsion technologies. Today, hand in hand with LNG, various clients are adopting sustainable and more environmentally conscious mobility,” commented Rodrigo Arroyo, Truck Manager at Andes Motor, who was present at the opening ceremony.
