June 8, 2021. The international logistics company ESP Solutions has acquired 300 units of the Iveco S-Way Natural Power fueled by liquefied natural gas (LNG) -the largest operation of natural gas vehicles for a Spanish logistics fleet- the ECO line already represents 30% of the total. With this sustainable fleet, almost 2,000 tons of CO2 will be discontinued per year, the equivalent of planting 279,000 trees. In addition, ESP Solutions will generate significant operational savings by reducing fuel costs.
ESP Solutions, which transports medicines, technological products, parcels and food to families throughout Europe, has chosen the path of sustainability: its objective is that 50% of its fleet is sustainable by 2022; and 80%, within five years. With routes to more than 20 countries, ESP Solutions has opted for Iveco and natural gas because it is a mature, reliable and efficient technology, supported by a solid refueling network in Europe; and that it meets all the requirements required by long-distance missions.
An Iveco S-Way Natural Power powered by LNG emits 95% less particles, 90% less Nox and 15% less CO2. In addition, it is a technology with a future and a lot of room for improvement through the use of biomethane, with which CO2 emissions are reduced by 95% compared to diesel. In addition to its benefits for the environment and air quality, natural gas allows significant savings in fuel costs, due to the lower consumption and lower cost of LNG compared to diesel.
Pedro Campillo, President of ESP Solutions, declared during the delivery of these vehicles that “we have opted for natural gas because we understand that it is the present and the best technology that we can apply to reduce emissions and because there is a consistent network of filling stations in Europe. We are specialists in long-distance transport and with natural gas we can carry it out giving quality, security in deliveries and, above all, respecting the environment”.
