At its premises in Santo Domingo, in the province of Buenos Aires, Metropol – the leading public passenger transport company in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA) – presented the results of the tests carried out for two months with Scania Argentina compressed natural gas (CNG) buses.
This event brought together the authorities of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, the province of Buenos Aires, the Nation, private companies and other key transport players, to share the advances and benefits of this innovative technology.
“Scania’s CNG bus has proven to be a viable and efficient solution for public transport. The results indicate a notable reduction in carbon emissions and significant savings in operating costs, thus confirming the potential of this technology to improve our transport system,” said Sebastián Presumido, General Manager of Metropol.
These results reflect the potential of gas-powered buses to significantly improve the public transport system, with a focus on caring for the environment and on the economic efficiency of companies.

For his part, Oscar Jaern, CEO of Scania, celebrated the satisfactory results of the test with these groups and reaffirmed the commitment to continue working together towards a cleaner and more efficient future for mobility.
