Molgás Energía incorporates 5 LNG trucks to its fleet

May 4, 2021. The five new Scania units incorporated by Molgás Energía belong to the R series and have a 13-liter, 410 hp engine powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), which offers a maximum torque of 2,000 Nm. It is Scania’s most powerful LNG engine with similar performance to diesel. These vehicles have double tanks, which guarantee an approximate autonomy of 1,000 kilometers.

For Juan Menchero Fabián, COO of Molgas Energía, “this acquisition responds to the desire we had to test this LNG-powered 410 CV Scania truck to see first-hand its behavior on the road and its safety in heavy transport. We know the experience that Scania has with this type of vehicle and we were clear that the new trucks that we incorporated into our fleet had to be from this brand”.

An adjusted operating cost, a lower noise level, and, above all, the possibility of its use with biomethane as soon as it is available, make these vehicles a fundamental tool in the search for a more sustainable transport. “Molgás is a company committed for many years to sustainability and the environment. In this way, we follow the line of our company policy, helping to achieve the decarbonization objectives of the European Union and helping to improve air quality so that our future generations can enjoy a better world,” says Menchero.

These new vehicles, which make fixed routes between Madrid, Barcelona and the south of France transporting LNG, have been delivered through the official Scania Hispania dealer in Madrid.
