February 20, 2023. At the 2022 Final Public Accountability Hearing, the head of the Operating Unit of the Executing Entity for the Conversion to Natural Gas Vehicles (EEC-GNV), Pavel Salinas, reported “15,487 vehicles that migrated their consumption of gasoline to natural gas, which represents 41% more than the 2021 management (10,955)”.
Since May 2022, the conversion to natural gas is carried out with Sequential Injection Kits (fifth generation), a technology that allows injecting the exact amount of gas according to the engine’s requirement, maintaining power and vehicle performance. “Of the total conversions of vehicles; 6,566 were with sequential injection kits and 8,921 with naturally aspirated kits,” Salinas said.
In addition, he reported that 30,242 conversion equipment maintenance services and 31,811 cylinder requalifications were carried out nationwide, making a total of 77,540 services carried out by the EEC-GNV in the 2022 administration, the largest execution of services of the five-year period.
“Regarding the investment execution, 68% of the resources were allocated to pay for the conversion, maintenance and requalification services provided through 233 workshops nationwide, and the acquisition of natural gas conversion equipment represents the 26% of investment spending”, indicated the head of the Operating Unit.
